22 October 2016, Nirapad News: Nirapad Sarak Chai (NISCHA), an organization working for safe road, observed the National Road Safety Day today amid different programmes including rally and discussion in the capital.
This year’s theme for the day is: “No Blame Game, Know the cause of road crash, All must abide by the rules.”
As part of the programme, NISCHA brought out a procession from Shilpakala Academy and will held a rally at Muktangaon. The procession paraded thoroughfares of the city including Kakrail intersection, Bijoynagar and Paltan areas at about 10:30 am. Simultaneously rallies were also held all over the country by the 95 branches of the organization.
The movement for NISCHA (We Demand Safe Road) began in 1993 after the wife of film actor Ilias Kanchan was killed in a tragic road crash.
Ilias Kanchan is the chairman of NISCHA and his wife’s death anniversary is being observed on the day since last 23 years.
A millad mahfil and doa-munajat was also held after Asr prayer at NISCHA headquarters today.
