13 April 2015, Nirapad News: Jatiya Sangsad speaker and also Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) executive committee chairman Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury commented that gender equality should be established by outlining a gender-sensible budget.
The speaker made the comment as chief discussant at ‘Global Parliamentary Conference Gender Equality and Women Rights in the
Post’ organized by Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Jatiya Sangsad public relations officer and also one of the speaker’s team members SM Manjur informed on Monday morning.
Speaker said that women issues should get priority in implementing World Bank and IMF sponsored poverty eradication and development program.
She further said that parliamentary network, World Bank, IMF, Members of Parliament should work together in ensuring sustainable development in the world.
Jatiya Sangsad chief-whip ASM Firoz, Muhibur Rahman and Sanjida Khaman, among others, are included in Bangladesh delegations at the program attended by around 100 countries.
