Nayeem Ashraf-Shadman Sakif’s bail rejected in the Banani rape case


5 June 2017, Nirapad News: A Dhaka court has rejected the bail petition of Nayeem Ashraf and Shadman Sakif, two main accused in the Banani rape case.

After hearing the bail petitions filed by the lawyers of the accused, Metropolitan Magistrate Mazharul Haque rejected the pleas on Monday.

On May 6, one of the rape victim filed a case with Banani police accusing five people.

Of the accused, Shafat Ahmed, and Nayeem Ashraf, were sued for raping the two female university students while Shadman Shakif, 24, Shafat’s driver Billal, 26, and his bodyguard for abetting in the crime.
